In Downtown:

Outdoor Sculpture Space on upper State Street during the Upper State Street Festival.

Description: There will be a street festival in Upper State St. (near the City Gallery) on one of the weekend CWOS festival days. There is space available for a sculpture artist to show for this one afternoon. Please call Alison for more information

Description: Space available for 8 artists in the downstairs performance space, the stairwells and upstairs in the Launch Pad. Roughly 4ft wide by 6ft high wall space per artist. Please keep in mind this is an all ages, family friendly venue, PG-13 work please.
The Space can be open for these hours: Friday Oct 3: 4-6pm, Saturday Oct 4: 10am – 5pm (with a flea market and music outside), Sunday Oct 5: 12–5pm
Artists showing here will have their work seen by over 300 patrons to The Space outside of CWOS festival hours. Setup & takedown will be the Tuesday before and after CWOS.

Welcome to the CWOS Networking Blog

Artspace presents 2008 City-Wide Open Studios
October 2–5, 2008
Connecting visitors with hundreds of artists in New Haven neighborhoods:
Downtown, Westville, Fair Haven, West Haven & Hamden/Newhallville.

As a way to connect participating CWOS artists with temporary spaces and each other, we have set up this blog forum. As locations are offered to Artspace as temporary studio spaces, we will post them in a blog entry. If a space sounds appealing to you, please use the contact information to get in touch with the person offering space as soon as possible. These spaces will probably fill up quickly and its up to the person offering space who they give the space to.

If you are a local studio artist who would be willing to share your studio space, please email us at cwosstudio@artspacenh.org. We will add your space availability to our list, and artists will contact you directly. We are very appreciative of artists who generously share their space in the spirit of welcoming  fellow artists from outside New Haven to join in the festival.

We will also start blog entries for artists who want to connect with other artists working in the same medium. We encourage you to form groups or collectives and find a space to show together.

When you have secured a location for the CWOS Festival, please send us an email at cwosstudio@artspacenh.org. You have until August 22, 2008 to send in your studio location to be included in our publications.
